With social distancing limiting how much people can go outside or socialize with friends, the only silver lining may be extra gaming time. If you’ve been putting off starting that extra long RPG or Adventure game, this may be the perfect way to pass the time.
No matter your choice of console, a longass gaming marathon can make all the alone time a little less painful.
Check out our top marathoning suggestions below:
Master Chief Marathon on Xbox One

The Halo series contains some of the best exclusives in Microsoft’s library, and what better way to survive isolation than playing through the entire series in chronological order? You can even play local co-op split screen for every game in the Master Chief Collection if you have a quarantine partner.

For anyone who has GamePass both the Master Chief Collection and Halo 5 are included, so just download and enjoy days of covenant-slaying excitement. (While Halo 3: ODST is also included, I don’t recommend anyone waste their time with it. Just pretend it doesn’t exist.)
- Halo: the Master Chief Collection (GamePass)
- Halo Reach
- Halo CE: Remastered
- Halo 2 Remastered
- Halo 3
- Halo 4
- Halo 5 (GamePass)
Uncharted Marathon on PS4

The Uncharted series is one of the finest experiences exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation. Starting on the PS3, the Uncharted series is widely considered one of the best gaming series of all time, so what better way for PS4 owners to pass time in quarantine than relive all of the Uncharted adventures in chronological order?

Starting with the remastered Nathan Drake Collection, and playing through the first three games in the series is a great start. Then you can move onto the fourth game for PS4 and finally finish with The Lost Legacy, the only game in the series to not star Nathan Drake.
- Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
- Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (PSNow)
- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PSNow)
- Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (PSNow)
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PSNow – until 4/7/20)
Old School Super Mario Marathon on Switch (via Nintendo Online)
If you feel like going epic old school, you can play through the entire 8-bit and 16-bit Super Mario Bros series in order on Nintendo Online.
- Super Mario Bros (NES)
- Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels (NES)
- Super Mario Bros 2 (NES)
- Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)
- Super Mario World (SNES)
- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (SNES)
Certainly these are just some of the ways you could marathon away the days. If you have any suggested marathons of your own to share, drop a comment.
Happy gaming and stay safe everyone!
