The first Curse of the Moon was a prequel to 2018’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, created as a bonus for having such a successful Kickstarter for Ritual. It was an 8-bit styled love-letter to the NES Castlevania games, particularly Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. While the first Curse didn’t click with me the same way Ritual did, it was clear that a lot of effort and love went into making it.
The sequel to the prequel 😎 promises more 8-bit action-packed fun, and provides even more characters and features than the first one did. It will feature two player coop, all the characters from the first Curse (Zangetsu, Miriam, Alfred, and Gebel) and add a few new ones: Dominique, Robert and Hachi.
I’m looking forward to experiencing more of the Bloodstained universe in Curse of the Moon 2.
