Quick Take: 👍 Play it
Neon Abyss looks good, sounds good and plays good. Since it’s now available on Gamepass, why not give it a try?
Neon Abyss is an action packed, roguelite platformer where you run ‘n’ gun your way into the Abyss. Featuring unlimited item synergies and a unique dungeon evolution system, each run diversifies the experience and every choice alters the ruleset.

The game itself is pretty cool. The graphics are sharp, cartoony and colorful. The music is thumping, the controls are sharp enough (but it forces you to weirdly use the left trigger to jump, but you get used to it quickly) and the levels are interesting (despite being randomly generated).
There are plenty of different guns and power-ups to unlock but unfortunately the common enemies are kind of generic looking and bland. However the bosses are much cooler and more memorable.
One cool feature are the eggs you collect that hatch (or not) over time. These can spawn little floating doll-like partners that can help protect you from enemies and provide other perks and enhancements. These partners can also upgrade over time, but eventually leave you.
