Yes! You can still play P.T. …sort of

P.T. is one of the best horror games ever made, but it’s not really a game at all…not really.

P.T. is a playable teaser created by Kojima Studios under the alias 7780s Studio that was supposed to serve as an interactive puzzle to unlock a video teaser for the game Silent Hills.

Silent Hills was to be a video game collaboration between Hideo Kojima (creator of Metal Gear Solid) and Guillermo del Toro (director of Mimic, Pacific Rim and Hellboy 2004, among others), starring Norman Reedus (who famously played Daryl in The Walking Dead on AMC).

Sadly, Silent Hills was cancelled after a falling out between Kojima and Konami, and we never got to see the completion of Kojima’s vision.

After the cancellation of Silent Hills, in April 2015, Konami asked Sony to remove P.T. from the PlayStation store, and unless you already had it downloaded you couldn’t download it anymore…however

P.T. was so popular among gamers that it spawned several spiritual sequels (like Visage) and was recreated in various forms by fans. One such recreation was Unreal PT, created in Unreal Engine by Radius Gordello.

You can visit the page on Lutris.net to download it. From the page on Lutris.net you just need to copy and paste the download link into your browser.

Warning: just remember that any files you choose to download and install from the internet, you choose to do so at your own risk; there is no way to know for certain how the game will impact your computer.

While Unreal PT runs on my computer with no issues so far, every computer has a different configuration and you should be careful to scan for viruses with every file you download, regardless of the source you download it from.
