REVIEWS

We don’t review just any games.

We only review games with an association to classic gaming, whether it be a direct port or collection of classic/retro games, a new release in a classic game series (like Mario, Sonic or Zelda), or a brand new game created in a classic game style.

Our review badges along with our average numeric score, from 0 to 10, tells you whether we think a game is worth your valuable time and hard earned money.

Badges are awarded based on the average score of a game, taking into consideration visuals, audio, gameplay and fun.

Furthermore each game receives a 0 to 10 score in each primary review category: visuals, audio, gameplay and fun. This way you can see where a game excels or falls short, and have an idea how we determined a game’s overall score, since each game’s overall score is a straight average of its scores by category.

Badges Explained

Absolute dumpster-fire shovelware trash that you should avoid at all costs.

Broken games with serious flaws that take away all fun. Only play out of morbid curiosity.

These flawed games are headed straight to a bargain bin near you. Wait for a sale, if at all.

Capable games that are generally fun but have a few flaws. You should try before you buy or wait for a sale.

Great games that are well designed and fun to play. Go ahead and pick them up now. You won’t be sorry.

Legendary expertly crafted experiences you will remember for a long time. Your life will never be the same.
